The unit shall have the same compact design and functions as the delegate unit and also have two additional buttons: priority button, giving the chairman precedence over any delegate and a speech button allowing the chairman to access the microphone and in doing so will disable the internal loudspeaker preventing acoustic feedback. In the OFF position the chairman will still be able to monitor the delegate units whilst the microphone is turned off. The chairman units shall be self-powered by the central control unit (TS-780). The microphone shall have a ring type LED in-use lamp located at the head that will illuminate the operation status when in use. The microphone can be attached and detached from the unit via a locking 4-pin connector. There shall be two optional types of microphones available, standard length and long reach. The finish of the unit shall be of ABS resin in a sliver metallic paint with a black base and weighing 800 g (1.76 lb.)
